Looking 4 Happiness
6 years ago my song "Looking for Happiness" lost its top position in the charts. The song had been for two months in the number one spot in Italy and constantly on the radio all over continental Europe: the music world breathed a sigh of relief! Listening to the song today I feel proud of sharing shamelessly uncool positivity with European clubbers.
As a teenager I dreamed of a career in the music industry: "Oh how happy I would be if only I were a famous singer" and suddendly I was. Top of the Pops, radio interviews, concerts and fans. How did I feel? Satisfied but unhappy, it was not for me. Today music is still a passion, but it could never became my life.
I will be happy when I see my video on MTV, I will be happy when I complete my degree, I will be happy only when... Poets and scientists tell us that happiness is now. We agree, but we still make plans. Can we really increase our happiness by focusing on the accomplishment of a future goal? I think we can. Achievements of all sizes help us building a positive image of ourselves and give us what Seligman define as "Happiness in the past": Satisfaction. Experiencing a degree of success, we grow accustomed to the idea that we can get what we want: we can rise above the challenge and get the prize! Such experiences help us developing "Happiness in the Future": Hope.
And what about the present? Is there any achievement which could make us lastingly "Happy in the present"? Mmmh, I leave the answer to you. In the meantime, maybe we could choose to be happy now and even happier later ;-)

Hey, could you please explain a bit how did you make it with the music production, how did you record your songs, where did you find productors, how did you make it to become first in classification, what kind of mixer, microphones, monitors you used for recording your songs...
It makes me smile, when I read your words; that we think we can reach for happines, by changing the outside world. I am familiar with things like: "when i ll finish my studies, i ll become happy, or when i ll become famous, or have a girlfriend, loads of money, than i ll be truly happy..." But it never happens, even if you gain all these "material" things that come from the outside world, it doesn t make us happy. On the inside we still feel empty, and keep on trying to fill this emptyness with more things from the outside, and this never ends...
So i would say that : KEEP ON DOING WHAT YOUR PASSION IS, BUT BE AWARE THAT IT WON MAKE YOU FULFILLED.
My answer to your question: "Is there any achievement which could makeus lastingly "Happy in the present"?" is to be able to love yourself, and I mean trully, not just by saying it. It is something like, when you lay in your bed in the evening, and you really feel loved by yourself, you feel it in your hearth, you can sense the warmth going through your body which makes you smile and move with your legs...It is difficult to feel it all the time.
Freedom means, loving life
